Your health habits are personal. We collect only what we need to match you and run your Pod, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

What we collect

  • Sign-up: your name, email, optional phone, city and age, and your answers about your habits and experience level, how many Saturdays you can make, your work pattern and other free times, why you're joining, your life stage, how you like to meet new people, your preferred pace and how you heard about us.
  • Pods: your health screening answers, your signed waiver, attendance and payment status. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
  • Pod checks: on your first and last Saturday, your answers about health, energy, sleep, stress, connection and activity, plus the grip strength, chair stand, balance and optional resting heart rate results your Pod Host records. On your last Saturday, whether you'd re-enrol, how likely you are to recommend us, and an optional sentence about what changed.
  • Email details: your email, optional first name and, if you opted in to updates, when and how, with your consent record.
  • Basic usage data: pages visited, device type and the link that brought you here, to keep the site working well and measure our ads (see Cookies and ad measurement).

How we use it

  • To match you into a Pod of people with a similar pace, schedule and interests, keep sessions safe, take payment and stay in touch with your Pod.
  • To plan new session times and cities, using your schedule answers.
  • To send you your Pod check links and reminders, and your personal start vs finish results. Your Pod Host sees your Pod check answers and test results so they can run the sessions well; other members never see them.
  • To email you about new Pods, events and occasional Rove news, only if you opted in.
  • To improve Rove using de-identified data only.

Consumer health data

Your Pod health screening and Pod check answers are consumer health data under laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370 and Connecticut's data privacy law. We collect and use this data only with your consent, given when you submit your screening or Pod check, and only to provide Pod matching, safe Pod sessions and your results. Your Pod Host sees your screening answers; other Pod members never do. We do not sell it, and we do not share it except with the service providers listed below. Independent practitioners at a session, such as a naturopathic doctor, collect their own health information under their own privacy obligations. You can withdraw consent and ask us to delete your health data at any time by emailing hello@thisisrove.com.

Research and aggregate findings (optional)

You choose this with the tick box at your first Pod check. If you tick it, your answers and results may be combined with other members' data to publish aggregate findings, such as "members' active circle grew from 2 to 6 people", and your Pod's combined start vs finish averages may be shared with your own Pod. Before any such use we remove your name, email and other direct identifiers, and we only publish results for groups, never individuals. Opting in is never required, and you can opt out at any time. If you write a sentence about what changed and tick the box to let us quote it, we may publish it with your first name only.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to help analyze de-identified, aggregate data and to help draft emails and Pod materials. A person on our team reviews everything before it is sent. The AI providers we use process data under contract and may not use it to train their own models.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run Rove: Stripe for payments, Resend for email, our hosting and database provider, our AI service providers, and Meta for ad measurement as described below. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we never share your health information, screening or Pod check results with advertisers, employers or insurers. Other members of your Pod see your first name and what you choose to share in person.

Cookies and ad measurement

We use the Meta Pixel on our public pages to see which of our ads bring people to the site and lead to a sign-up. It records that a page was visited, that someone signed up, or that someone requested a spot, along with standard browser details. It never receives your sign-up answers, and it never runs on Pod check, private link or payment pages, so your health answers are never sent to Meta. Meta may use this information under its own privacy policy. You can say no in the cookie notice, clear your browser's cookies at any time, or adjust ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account. We also save the link that first brought you to our site in your browser, so we know which ads and invites work.

Where it is stored

Data is stored on secure servers in the United States. If you live outside the United States, your information may be processed there and be subject to its laws.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from our emails with the link in any of them. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw any consent, at any time by emailing hello@thisisrove.com. We respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as Canada's PIPEDA and CASL, the EU and UK GDPR, or the California CCPA. We will not treat you differently for using them.

How long we keep it

We keep your sign-up and Pod data while you are in a Pod or on a city list, and until you ask us to delete it. Waivers and payment records are kept as long as the law requires. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we never email you again by mistake.
